Ross
Ross is a 9 year old, 17.2hh, dapple grey gelding going steadily whiter with age. He is a pure-bred Irish Draught, and definitely a gentle giant.
He had a rough start in life, going through several homes as a young horse before ending up at a dealers yard who deemed him dangerous to ride! A very misunderstood chap he was.
When Gareth met him, he was destined for the slaughterhouse so he took the opportunity to buy him for meat money and took him home immediately.
After spending some time with him, he began to trust Gareth and allowed him to ride him quietly around. He has been a wonderful horse for teaching Gareth to be calmer, kinder and more considerate towards horses, and he is still teaching him now!
A very shy boy despite his great size, he will only be ridden by Gareth at the moment but may help visitors with their groundwork as his sensitivity will help the more experienced to really fine tune their actions.
