Pour Chevaux is simply that, for horses. We offer beneficial services for them such as various bodywork therapies, hoof trimming, considerate backing, empathetic training, rehabilitation grass boarding in mixed herds and fun treks out….. all geared towards making an unnatural lifestyle as natural and pleasurable as possible within the confines of captivity.
We are based in the Creuse department of the Limousin region of France, a beautiful countryside of rolling hills, grass meadows and both deciduous and evergreen forests. On the horizon are the snow-capped mountains of the Massif Central range, misty blue in summer. Midsummer days are long and balmy, while in autumn the woodland is a blaze of red and gold. Sometimes there are spectacular thunderstorms with great jagged sheets of lightening illuminating the dark sky. In winter the land is carpeted in a sparkling white blanket of snow.
We would love you to come and visit us, either to work with our horses or to bring your own so they can join in and benefit from the many services we have to offer. Alternatively we are more than happy to visit you and work in a familiar environment for your horse where he feels relaxed and at ease.
If you would like to stay with us, home is a colourful jumble of horses, dogs and cats, chickens and guinea fowl. Peaceful picnic spots abound in the surrounding fields and there are numerous walks through woods and farmland.
There is a wide choice of non-horsey days out, to the cobbled streets of the medieval town of Aubusson, the beaches and cool clear waters of Lake Vassiviere or a cable car ride to the top of Puy de Sancy for panoramic views.
